The Little Guys Nationals was resurrected at Virginia Motorsports Park after a seventeen-year hiatus. This nostalgic tribute to Suffolk Raceway occurred because of the yearlong efforts of Johney Rousey and Doug Rice. A Suffolk Raceway Reunion was held the past six years at a variety of venues but did not include any drag racing. That format changed this year with a variety of action on the Dinwiddie, VA drag strip. There were match races, exhibition runs, ET racing, and flag starts for pre 1963 race cars. In the pits attendees enjoyed a variety of vendors, car show, flea market, and a welcome BBQ Friday evening. A mini cacklefest was held Saturday evening after the presentation of the unique plaques to the 2009 Suffolk Raceway Hall of Fame honorees. Sundays racing program and car show was cancelled due to rain showers. Just days after the inaugural Suffolk Raceway Little Guys Nationals, Johney Rousey and Doug Rice were already planning next years event.
